The Prayer of Faith: Believing Without Wavering
Devotional From The Sermon: Healing Prayers
Rev. Rev. Dr. Bankole Akinbinu
Reading: James 1:5-8
Devotional:
There is a difference between saying words in prayer and actually praying in faith. Many people come before God with their mouths full of requests and their hearts full of doubt. They speak the right language but carry a quiet unbelief that God will actually respond. The prayer of faith is not a prayer of perfect emotion. It is a prayer of deliberate trust a choice to believe that God hears, that God cares, and that God is able to act on your behalf. It does not waver based on what circumstances look like. It stands on what God has said. Faith does not deny the reality of the problem. It simply refuses to give the problem more authority than God.
Personal Reflection:
- When you pray, do you genuinely expect God to answer, or do you pray out of obligation while doubting in your heart?
- What does it mean practically to pray without wavering in your current season of life?
Practical Application: Choose one specific prayer request today and commit to praying it daily for one week without allowing doubt to have the final word. Each time doubt arises, counter it with a specific truth from Scripture about the nature and power of God.
