The Power Working Within You

Devotional From The Sermon: Beyond What You Know

Rev. Rev. Dr. Bankole Akinbinu

Reading: Acts 1:4-8 and Romans 8:9-17

Devotional:

The most extraordinary truth in Ephesians 3:20 is often the most overlooked. God is able to do abundantly more than we ask or think, but the verse does not stop there. It says this happens according to the power that is at work within us. The power is not distant. It is not reserved for a select few. It is the power of the Holy Spirit, living inside every believer. This is the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. This is the power that gives counsel in confusion, comfort in grief, and courage in fear. You do not need to search for this power. You need to yield to it. Stop pocket-sizing what God can do. The Spirit within you is greater than anything standing before you.

Personal Reflection:

• How often do you consciously depend on the power of the Holy Spirit in your daily decisions and challenges?
• What would change in your life if you truly lived as though the resurrection power of God was actively working within you?

Practical Application: Begin each morning this week by pausing before your feet hit the floor and acknowledging the presence of the Holy Spirit within you. Ask him to lead you, counsel you, and demonstrate his power through your life that day. At the end of each day, write down one moment where you saw his presence made real.
