Devotional:

The sermon offers a sharp and honest warning: do not get behind God by waiting until everything makes sense before you move, and do not get ahead of God by engineering your own solution when his timing feels slow. Abraham and Sarah did both. They waited, then they rushed, and the result was Ishmael, a self-made substitute for the God-given promise. God’s response was not to abandon them, but to still deliver Isaac in his appointed time. God’s provision operates on his schedule, not ours. Staying in sync with God means remaining obedient in the waiting and remaining patient in the moving. Both require the same thing — trust.
