A God With a Track Record
Devotional From The Sermon: How-Ever: Faith for the Other Side of However
Rev. Rev. Dr. Bankole Akinbinu
Reading: Exodus 14:10-14
Devotional:
Before you face your next however, it helps to remember how God handled your last one. Israel stood at the edge of the Red Sea with Pharaoh’s army closing in behind them. Every natural calculation said they were finished. But God, who had already sent ten plagues against the most powerful nation on earth, was not finished. He parted the sea. He brought Israel through on dry ground. He drowned the army that once held them in chains. God’s track record is not a collection of coincidences. It is a consistent pattern of faithfulness in the face of impossible odds. Look back before you look ahead. What you find in your past will fuel your faith for your future.
Reflection: What moment in your life can you point to where God made a way when there appeared to be no way?
Application: Spend ten minutes journaling a specific testimony of God’s faithfulness in your life. Return to it whenever a new however threatens to overwhelm your faith.
