Backpack Buddy Ministry
Feeding Children. Fueling Futures
What is the Backpack Buddy Ministry?
Every child deserves to be nourished—body, mind, and spirit. At Baptist Grove Church, our Backpack Buddy Ministry partners with local schools to provide weekend meals for children facing food insecurity. We fill bags with nutritious, easy-to-prepare food that students can discreetly take home to ensure they have something to eat over the weekend.
This ministry is a direct response to the call of Christ in Matthew 25:35—“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat…” It’s our way of ensuring that no child in our community goes hungry when the school cafeteria closes for the weekend.

How It Works
On designated Sundays after worship, a team of volunteers gathers to pack and pray over the backpacks in preparation for delivery. The work is simple, but the impact is profound. One backpack can make the difference between hunger and hope.
Packing usually takes 30–45 minutes, and all materials are provided. We welcome individuals, families, small groups, and youth volunteers—there’s room for everyone to serve.
