Reading: James 4:6-10

Devotional: Humility to Touch the Hem

This woman didn’t demand a front-row seat or insist Jesus stop everything for her. She had the humility to come from behind, lower herself, and touch the hem of His garment—the tassels that nearly dragged the ground. She believed that even the fringes of Christ’s presence held healing power.

Pride keeps us from breakthrough. Pride says, “I’ve got this.” Pride refuses to bow, to admit need, to reach out. But God gives grace to the humble. When we come to Jesus without pretense, without demands, simply desperate for His touch, that’s when power flows. You don’t need to be the intended target; you just need to be humble enough to reach for Him wherever you can find Him.
