Sermon Series: The Christ of a Comeback

Sermon Title: A Comeback From Hell on Earth

Reading: Romans 8:31-39; James 4:7

The devil wants you to believe you’re powerless, but Scripture declares otherwise. If God is for you, who can be against you? No weapon formed against you shall prosper. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. These aren’t empty platitudes—they’re spiritual realities. The problem is we’ve been taking the devil’s punches without swinging back.

Today marks a new beginning. You have the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. You have the name of Jesus. You have the indwelling Holy Spirit. Stop making the enemy comfortable. Resist him, and he will flee. Stand firm in your faith. Declare victory over your mind, your home, your future. You’re not fighting alone—you fight in the strength and power of the risen Christ.

Reflection:

  • Which lie about your powerlessness do you most often believe, and which specific verse from today’s reading directly confronts that lie?
  • What does “resisting the devil” look like in a very practical, daily way for you—at home, at work, or in your thought life?
