Devotional from the Sermon: Who Will Care for Zion?
Rev. Dr. Mycal Brickhouse
Reading: Psalm 102:18-28
Devotional:
God instructed Jeremiah to write down His promises because restoration unfolds across generations. You are living proof of prayers prayed by ancestors you never met. Their faithfulness created the spiritual compost from which your life now grows.
Likewise, the word God speaks over your life today isn’t just for your immediate relief—it’s a prophetic inheritance for those who will come after you. When you declare freedom, healing, or breakthrough, you’re not just addressing your present circumstance; you’re establishing a covenant promise that will outlive you.
Your perseverance through this season becomes the testimony your children and grandchildren will lean on when they face their own darkness. You are both beneficiary and benefactor in God’s multi-generational plan of restoration.
Reflection:
- What spiritual inheritance did you receive?
- What legacy of faith are you creating for the next generation?
