Devotional From The Sermon: Cross-Covered, Not Crystal Carried

Reading: 1 Samuel 17:45-51; Hebrews 4:14-16

Devotional:

David defeated Goliath, and Israel won without fighting. This is the gospel pattern: Christ, our Champion, fought battles we couldn’t win. Every temptation He resisted, every sin He atoned for, every enemy He defeated—these victories become ours when we’re united with Him. You face giants too large for your strength, but you don’t face them alone. Jesus sits at the Father’s right hand, interceding for you with prayers that never fail. When your prayers feel weak and your faith feels small, remember: your Champion is praying for you. His victory is your victory. His righteousness is your covering. Rest in what He has accomplished, not in what you must achieve.
