Strength Perfected in Weakness
Devotional From The Sermon: The Anxiety-Free Life: The Heavy Shoulders of a Good Man
Rev. Dr. Bankole Akinbinu
Reading: 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
Devotional:
God’s grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in weakness. This seems counterintuitive in a culture that celebrates self-sufficiency and independence. Yet God’s economy operates differently. When you acknowledge your weakness, you create space for His power to work. Your vulnerabilities aren’t liabilities; they’re opportunities for God’s strength to shine through. Stop trying to be the superhero who carries everything alone. Instead, become the humble servant who recognizes his dependence on God. In your weakness, God’s power is perfected. In your insufficiency, His sufficiency is revealed. When you can’t, He can. When you’re empty, He fills. When you’re broken, He restores.
Reflection:
- How might acknowledging your weakness actually position you to experience greater power from God?
