Created to Create, Not Compete
Devotional From The Sermon: The Anxiety-Free Life: The Anxiety of Advancement
Min. Jordan DeVeaux
Reading: Exodus 31:1-6
Devotional:
God filled Bezalel with His Spirit, giving him skill, ability, and knowledge in all kinds of crafts. Human creativity reflects God’s image. It’s a beautiful gift. But the Tower of Babel reveals what happens when we create to compete rather than to glorify God. Today’s technology promises to enhance our creativity, yet often it tempts us to outsource our unique voice. Your mind, your perspective, your story…these cannot be replicated by artificial intelligence. God designed you with specific gifts that the world needs. Don’t sacrifice your authentic creativity on the altar of efficiency. Create from rest, not anxiety. Build for God’s glory, not your own name. Your creative voice matters because God gave it to you.
Reflection:
- How has comparison (with people or with AI-enhanced output) shaped the way you view your own God-given creativity?
- What is one creative action you can take this week that is clearly for God’s glory, not for competition or self-promotion?
