Beyond What You Can See
Devotional From The Sermon: Beyond What You Know
Rev. Rev. Dr. Bankole Akinbinu
Reading: Ephesians 3:14-21
Devotional:
There is a profound difference between information and revelation. Information tells you what is. Revelation tells you what God says can be. Paul prays not that believers would simply accumulate knowledge about God, but that they would experience a love that surpasses knowledge entirely. This is a love that cannot be contained in a textbook or reasoned through with the natural mind. It must be received by faith. Today, examine where you have allowed the limits of your own understanding to place a ceiling on what you believe God can do in your life. Ask God to move you from information into revelation, and trust that his love for you is greater than anything your mind can fully comprehend.
Personal Reflection:
- Where in your life have you allowed what you know to limit what you believe God can do?
- What would it look like to pray prayers that go beyond the boundaries of your own reasoning?
Practical Application: Write down one area of your life where you have been relying solely on your own understanding. Spend five minutes in prayer asking God to give you a revelation of his power and love in that specific area.
