Devotional From The Sermon: Who Will Care For Zion?

Rev. Dr. Mycal Brickhouse

Reading: John 11:17-44; Romans 8:31-39

The ultimate answer to “Who will care for Zion?” is Jesus Christ—the Prince from among God’s people, the One who dared approach the Father on our behalf. What looked like death on Friday became resurrection on Sunday because life dwells even in dead things.

Jesus is God’s final word on restoration. His resurrection proves that no wound is too deep, no exile too far, no darkness too thick for God’s redemptive power. Because He lives, your tomorrow has hope. Because He lives, your fears lose their grip. Because He lives, restoration isn’t just possible—it’s promised.

You are living evidence that God keeps covenant. Your presence here today testifies to grace, mercy, and divine faithfulness. You’re not an accident; you’re evidence that the Lord is good, that He stands beside His people, that He completes what He begins.

Reflection:

  • How does Christ’s resurrection change your perspective on your current struggles?
  • What would it look like to live today as “living evidence” of God’s faithfulness?
