Fulfilled Promises Are Connected to Past Faithfulness
Devotional From The Sermon: Dreaming Beyond Our Days
Rev. Rev. Dr. Bankole Akinbinu
Reading: Joshua 24:32; Romans 8:28
Devotional:
Jacob purchased a piece of land in Shechem without knowing it would one day become the burial ground of his son Joseph and the inheritance of future generations. He was simply faithful in his moment. Generations later, that quiet act of faithfulness bore fruit that Jacob never witnessed. This is the nature of God’s economy. Nothing done in faithfulness is ever wasted. Every prayer prayed in obscurity, every sacrifice made in love, every act of obedience in a difficult season is a seed. God weaves it all together for good. Be faithful today. Someone in the future is depending on it.
Personal Reflection:
- Are there areas where you feel unseen or wonder if your obedience matters?
- How does Romans 8:28 encourage you to trust that God is weaving your faithfulness into a greater purpose?
