Future Glory Written in Stone

Devotional From The Sermon: Cross-Covered, Not Crystal Carried

Rev. Dr. Bankole Akinbinu

Reading: Revelation 21:18-21; Romans 8:18-25

Devotional:

The New Jerusalem’s foundations aren’t just beautiful—they’re testimonies. Each precious stone bears an apostle’s name, declaring God’s faithfulness to complete what He started. Your name is written there too, not on a stone, but in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Present suffering is real, but it’s not final. God isn’t finished with you yet. Every tear you’ve cried, every prayer you’ve whispered, every lonely night you’ve endured—none of it is wasted. Your redemption draws near. The same God who raised Jesus from a sealed tomb will wipe every tear from your eyes. Stand firm. Keep believing. Your future is as secure as the foundations of heaven itself, built by the Master Architect who never fails.

Reflection:

  • What current struggle can I endure with greater hope when I remember my eternal future?
