God’s Compassionate Heart

Devotional From The Sermon: The Cry For Help (Part 1)

Rev. Dr. Bankole Akinbinu

Reading: Psalm 103:8-14

Devotional:

The psalmist reminds us that God’s compassion toward us is like a father’s love for his children. Just as earthly fathers show tenderness to their children, our Heavenly Father is moved by our pain and suffering. He is not distant or indifferent to our struggles.

When you feel overwhelmed by life’s burdens, remember that God sees you, hears your cries, and responds with tender mercy. His compassion never runs dry. Today, reflect on moments when God has shown you compassion. How has His loving-kindness sustained you through difficult seasons? Allow gratitude to fill your heart, and consider how you might extend that same compassion to someone struggling around you.

Reflection:

  • When have you experienced God’s compassion most powerfully in your life?
