God’s Promise Is Greater Than Your Problem

Devotional From The Sermon: How-Ever: Faith for the Other Side of However

Rev. Rev. Dr. Bankole Akinbinu

Reading: Numbers 13:25-33

Devotional:

The ten spies returned from Canaan holding fruit in their hands and fear in their hearts. They saw the same land, the same giants, the same fortified cities as Caleb and Joshua, yet they arrived at completely different conclusions. The difference was not what they saw but what they weighed. Every promise God makes comes attached to a however. There will always be obstacles alongside opportunities, burdens alongside blessings, giants alongside the fruit. The question is never whether the obstacle is real. The question is whether God’s promise carries more weight in your heart than the problem standing in front of you. Today, choose to weigh the promise.

Reflection: What promise of God are you currently measuring against an obstacle? Which one is winning the scale in your heart?

Application: Write down one promise from Scripture that directly addresses a current challenge in your life. Read it aloud three times today as a declaration of faith.
