Devotional From The Sermon: Purified Through Pressure

Devotional:

A goldsmith does not place precious metal in the fire to destroy it. He places it there to purify it. The heat drives out the impurities so that what remains is genuine and valuable. Job understood this process intimately. He had lost nearly everything. He could not sense God’s presence on his left or his right. Yet he declared in Job 23:10 that God knows the path he is taking, and that after God has tested him, he will come forth as pure gold. That is not denial. That is faith anchored in the character of God. The fire you are in is not your end. It is your refining.

Personal Reflection:

What impurities, whether fear, pride, self-reliance, or doubt, might God be working to remove through the pressure you are currently experiencing?

Practical Application:

• Spend time today in quiet prayer, specifically asking God to reveal what He is refining in you during this season.
• Write down what comes to mind and surrender each item to Him deliberately and prayerfully.
