Devotional:

Prayer is not a last resort. It is not the option you turn to after every other plan has failed. It is the first and most powerful response available to the child of God in every circumstance. When suffering comes and it will come the Word does not offer a five-step plan or a strategy rooted in human ingenuity. It offers one clear directive: pray. This is not a diminished answer. It is the greatest answer, because prayer connects you to the God who holds all power. He is not distant from your pain. He is present in it, attentive to it, and fully capable of intervening in it. Do not suppress what you are carrying. Bring it before the Lord with honesty and faith.

Personal Reflection: 

• Have you been treating prayer as a last resort rather than a first response?
• What is one burden you have been carrying alone that you need to lay before God today?

Practical Application: Set aside ten minutes today to pray specifically about one area of your life where you have been relying on your own strength. Speak honestly to God. Do not dress it up. Simply bring it as it is.
