Devotional:

Many of us have experienced love that was contingent rather than consistent. Love that shifted with moods, circumstances, or performance. That kind of love teaches us to walk on eggshells and hide rather than live freely. But the prophet writes from the rubble of a destroyed city and declares that the steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. This is not wishful thinking. It is a deliberate act of calling something to mind. Today, make a conscious choice to bring to heart what you know to be true: God’s love does not vacillate. It does not depend on what side of the bed He woke up on. It is loyal, covenantal, and constant. Rest in that today.
