Volunteer Job Description:

To lead the congregation into corporate praise and worship and share the gospel of Jesus Christ through music and the arts. “Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: Praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: Praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: Praise Him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: Praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: Praise him upon the high-sounding cymbals. Let everything that hath breath Praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.” Psalm 150:1-6 KJV

 

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Youth Worship Team – Composed of members ranging from 6th to 12th grade who have a heart and desire to worship the Lord in song and grow in their gifting.  (Ministers on 4th Sunday each month)  Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 6pm before Fourth Sundays and the Saturday before 3rd Sundays at 11am.
  • Dance Team  – This ministry is open to all ages who have a desire to offer praise and worship to God through dance.  (Currently ministers for special occasions and upon request.)
  • United Praise Ensemble (UPE) – This combined group of anointed singers ministers on the 1st Sunday of each month.  (Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 7pm before First Sundays.)
  • Adult Worship Team – These individuals demonstrate stellar, Spirit-filled vocal gifting and the ability to sing a variety of Christian/Gospel music leading the congregation into corporate praise and worship. (Currently ministers on 2nd, 3rd, and 5th Sundays). Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 6pm before each scheduled Sunday

  • BGC Musicians – This group of highly skilled minstrels provide weekly musical support for each service at BGC and outside engagements for the pastor. (Rehearses weekly)

 

Requirements to serve

  • Worship Singers must be fully vaccinated
  • Must be able to attend rehearsals 
  • Vocal assessment/ audition for adult worship team and band

Music – The capacity to create or perform lyrics and melodies that lead others to praise God through worship 

Exhortation – The capacity to inspire, to motivate and to encourage others in their spiritual formation and personal ministry 

Prayer – The ability to sense whom and for what to pray

Prophecy – The capacity to receive, to reveal or to interpret God’s Truth, publicly, no matter what the consequences
